About the role Grant Thornton’s Restructuring Team supports companies and stakeholders to navigate periods of stress and distress with pragmatic solutions. As an Associate Director, you will lead case work, develop client relationships, manage small internal teams and help secure new business. Responsibilities Manage a portfolio of case work with appropriate director and partner oversight. Liaise with stakeholders, propose commercial and innovative solutions and prepare high‑standard deliverables within accelerated timelines. Lead and mentor junior staff, provide clear feedback and development opportunities, and drive a high‑performance culture. Build and nurture an external network, identify business opportunities and support marketing and BD activities, including delivering pitches. Ensure compliance, budgets and billing are met, applying best practice risk management and professional standards. Communicate effectively, manage multiple teams, balance competing demands, remove obstacles and solve complex problems. Lead key workstreams on projects such as independent business reviews, short‑term cash‑flow reviews, accelerated sales processes, options analysis, contingency planning, insolvency appointments and expert witness roles. Qualifications Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA) with extensive post‑qualification experience relevant to restructuring. Experience managing projects and leading key workstreams on larger projects, across independent business reviews, accelerated sales, options analysis, contingency planning, insolvency appointments and expert witness roles.
