A leading organisation within the FMCG sector is seeking a qualified and experienced Mechanical Engineer to join its high-performing engineering team. This is a permanent, full-time position working a LEN shift rotation, offering a competitive salary of £56,000 and a comprehensive benefits package.Role OverviewReporting to the Engineering Team Leader, the Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for maintaining and optimising key manufacturing equipment, ensuring operational reliability, and contributing to continuous improvement across the site. The successful candidate will have a strong background in mechanical maintenance and fault-finding, ideally gained in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.ResponsibilitiesConduct planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and respond to breakdowns in a timely and efficient mannerDiagnose and repair mechanical faults on a wide range of production equipmentSupport the delivery of engineering projects and improvement initiativesEnsure all maintenance activities are completed in line with health, safety, and compliance standardsCollaborate with cross-functional teams to drive efficiency and reduce downtimeMaintain accurate records of maintenance work using CMMS systemsCandidate RequirementsRecognised engineering qualification (e.g. NVQ Level 3, HNC, HND or equivalent) in Mechanical EngineeringProven experience in a mechanical maintenance role within an FMCG or similar manufacturing environmentStrong understanding of mechanical systems, including pneumatics and hydraulicsExcellent fault-finding skills and the ability to work under pressureFlexible approach to working rotating shifts, including nights and weekendsWhat’s on OfferCompetitive salary of £56,000 per annumStructured LEN shift pattern with paid overtime opportunitiesCompany pension schemeHealth and wellbeing initiativesOn-site facilities including parking and subsidised canteenIf you are interested in this role and feel that you have the right skills, then please click apply at the bottom of this advert.For further details, contact Kieran WallAs a registered candidate with Pioneer Selection Ltd, you automatically become eligible for our referral scheme.
