Domiciliary Dispensing Optician – Road Manager Location: Warrington About the Role Take your optical expertise on the road—and into leadership. This exciting hybrid role gives you the best of both worlds: 2-3 days a week in the office providing team leadership and operational management, and 2 days on the road delivering exceptional domiciliary eye care and supporting staff in the field. As a Domiciliary Dispensing Optician – Road Manager, you’ll combine hands‑on clinical care with the opportunity to coach, develop, and lead a passionate team. You’ll play a key role in supporting patients who cannot visit traditional practices while also driving performance and professional standards across your team. Office-Based Responsibilities (2-3 days per week) Lead and support a team of 6 Optical Assistants and 3 Optometrists Carry out 1:1s, performance reviews, and KPI monitoring Assist with workforce planning, rota coordination, and general operational management Ensure compliance with clinical and organisational standards Review patient feedback and support continuous improvement Help embed new processes, systems, and best practices across the team On-the-Road Responsibilities (2 days per week) Deliver personalised dispensing services in patients’ homes Observe and support staff in the field, offering guidance and development Help cover appointments when needed to ensure smooth patient care Use your professional expertise to recommend appropriate eyewear and solutions Provide crucial support to vulnerable individuals, helping them maintain independence and wellbeing This balance of fieldwork and office leadership provides variety, impact, and the opportunity to shape both patient experience and team success. The TeamYou’ll be joining a supportive group of dedicated optical professionals who share a passion for delivering high-quality care. The team includes: 6 skilled Optical Assistants 3 experienced Optometrists You’ll play a central role in guiding and empowering them to deliver the best possible service to patients.
