Postdoctoral Fellow (Level A) Postdoctoral Fellow (Level A) – Laboratory of Dr. Erin Goddard, School of Psychology, UNSW, Sydney, Australia. About The Role Salary: $113,000 – $121,000 per annum plus 17% Superannuation and annual leave loading. Contract: Fixed Term – 12 months, Full‑time (35 hours per week). Reporting to: Senior Lecturer Erin Goddard, no direct reports. The position is part of an Australian Research Council funded project focused on visual neuroscience. The project studies the human brain processes involved in interpreting unclear or ambiguous visual input, using behavioural measurements, fMRI and MEG. Specific Responsibilities Contribute independently or as part of a team to enhance the quality of research outcomes. Conduct research and assist research teams to produce scholarly outputs recognised by peers. Undertake and manage specific research projects under guidance, contributing to the development of research activities. Support dissemination of research outcomes through appropriate channels and outlets. Perform discipline‑appropriate research activities such as surveys, literature reviews, data gathering and recording of results using suitable research methods. Participate in and/or present at conferences and workshops relevant to the project as required. Assist with the supervision of research students in the research area where required. Align with and actively demonstrate the Code of Conduct and Values. Cooperate with all health and safety policies and procedures of the university, ensuring actions do not adversely affect your own or others’ health and safety. About The Successful Applicant (Selection Criteria) PhD in a related discipline, and/or relevant work experience. Good mathematical/statistical skills and demonstrated ability to write code in at least one of Matlab or Python. Proven commitment to staying up‑to‑date with discipline knowledge and developments. Demonstrated ability to undertake high‑quality academic research and conduct independent research with limited supervision. Track record of publications and conference presentations relative to the opportunity. Ability to work in a team, collaborate across disciplines and build effective relationships. Highly developed interpersonal skills. Communication and interaction skills with a diverse range of stakeholders and students. Understanding of and commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives, values and relevant policies. Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant training.
