Senior Technical Pricing Analyst

OverviewAXA Health is seeking a Senior Technical Pricing Analyst to join our team in Royal Tunbridge Wells, United Kingdom. We are making a significant investment in pricing capability with a comprehensive pricing transformation programme, including the implementation of new pricing software, market-leading modelling and performance monitoring approaches. Our pricing structure focuses on technical pricing, market pricing and pricing governance, and several vacancies have arisen requiring strong data science, actuarial and governance skills.If you have knowledge of actuarial techniques, including reserving, this could be the role for you. You’ll build and evolve risk models, continually improving the predictiveness of claims across Individual, SME and Corporate portfolios. You’ll use both traditional and emerging data science techniques to enable more accurate pricing, and carry out analysis of risk mix, claims trends, inflation and new treatment costs to align with the Reserving and Claims Analytics teams. You will monitor model performance and share insights with key stakeholders.At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You’ll work at least two days a week (40%) away from home, moving to three days a week (60%) in the future. Away from home means either attendance at our Tunbridge Wells or Bournemouth offices, visiting clients or attending industry events.What you’ll be doingBuilding, maintaining and enhancing pricing risk models using latest data science techniques including gradient boosting machines (GBMs), within agreed timelines.Contributing to documentation for taking models for approval pre-deployment.Reporting on agreed model performance KPIs at appropriate frequency.Ensuring modelling data meets required quality criteria, highlighting gaps and proposing solutions.Testing new data sources including internal customer data and external data, factors and feature engineering to enhance model predictiveness.Carrying out analysis of risk mix, claims trends, inflation and new treatment costs to facilitate alignment with the Reserving and Claims Analytics teams.Supporting less experienced colleagues in model building, analysis and data work.As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorised to work in the United Kingdom.
