About the Role:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our special school in Wolverhampton. This exciting opportunity is ideal for an individual with Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification, previous experience in a special school setting, and at least 6 months of experience working in the UK. The successful candidate will work with pupils who have Complex Needs and Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD).
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with our skilled teaching team to provide tailored support to pupils, ensuring their learning and personal development needs are met. You will play a vital role in helping create an inclusive, supportive environment where every pupil is encouraged to reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with complex needs and PMLD.
Assist with personal care, including feeding, toileting, and mobility, where required.
Support the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and contribute to pupil progress monitoring.
Help create a positive, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment.
Assist in delivering differentiated learning activities and classroom management.
Collaborate with teachers and other staff to ensure holistic care and learning support.
Support pupils with communication needs using a variety of techniques, including communication aids and Makaton (if applicable).
Requirements:
Minimum Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
At least 6 months of experience working in the UK in a similar role.
Previous experience in a special school setting, working with pupils with complex needs and PMLD.
A strong understanding of the needs of pupils with disabilities and the ability to tailor support accordingly.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
An enhanced DBS check (we can support you with this if necessary).What We Offer:
