This full‑time role begins in January 2026 and will involve working Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm. You will be working closely with a specific pupil in Year 4, supporting their academic, emotional, and social development on a one‑to‑one basis. As a One‑to‑One Teaching Assistant Year 4, you’ll play a vital role in helping a pupil access learning, build confidence, and thrive both academically and personally. Key Responsibilities - Year 4 1:1 Teaching Assistant Deliver tailored teaching and learning activities designed for an individual pupil. Assess the child’s needs and apply appropriate support strategies. Encourage independence and self‑confidence while maintaining a supportive presence. Promote positive behaviour and engagement in all classroom activities. Support the class teacher with feedback, record‑keeping, and tracking pupil progress. Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages participation and collaboration. Requirements - Year 4 1:1 Teaching Assistant To be considered for this role, you should: Have experience working with children, ideally in a primary or educational setting. Hold a Level 2 qualification or higher in a relevant subject area. Understand the National Curriculum and how to support learning in a Year 4 classroom. Hold (or be willing to apply for) an enhanced DBS certificate. Demonstrate strong communication skills – both written and verbal. Be confident in managing behaviour positively and encouraging student progress.
