Service Maintenance Technician

As a Refrigeration Maintenance Technician at Tesco, covering our Croydon areas, you’ll play a crucial role in keeping our environments comfortable, safe, and fully operational for both customers and colleagues. You’ll be part of a skilled maintenance team, responsible for both planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs across a wide range of refrigeration systems and equipment. From diagnosing faults to carrying out repairs and optimising system performance, your work will help ensure a seamless shopping experience for thousands of customers every day. This is a hands‑on, mobile role that requires strong technical knowledge, a proactive approach to problem‑solving, and a commitment to high standards of service and safety. The Hiring Manager for this role is David Turney. Responsibilities As a Service Maintenance Technician in Refrigeration, your specific responsibilities will encompass a wide range of tasks. To thrive in this role, you will need to: Install, maintain, and repair refrigeration systems to industry standards. Conduct routine inspections and propose solutions for potential issues. Monitor system performance and optimise efficiency. Collaborate on preventative maintenance programs. Respond to emergency service calls promptly. Qualifications Relevant certifications essential (e.g., City & Guilds 2079 F‑Gas). CO2 experience (service and maintenance). Ability to read drawings. Knowledge of health and safety legislation. Full UK driving licence. Strong refrigeration knowledge. Suitable Maths & English qualification. Good communication skills.
