The Opportunity We are seeking an experienced Fluvial Geomorphologist for our North geography team (Newcastle upon Tyne, Stockton on Tees, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Belfast, Sheffield, Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds, York). The role is part of a wider River Basin Management team that includes ecologists, landscape architects, carbon specialists, sustainability specialists and engineers. The role will allow you to contribute to Nature‑Based Solutions and improve resilience through climate change mitigation and adaptation. You will also participate in business development across the UK and beyond, including bid writing, client engagement, marketing and team management. Research and development opportunities are available, allowing you to formulate and deliver new projects and work with a diverse range of clients in the UK and abroad. Is this role right for you? We are looking for people with: BSc and/or MSc in geography, environmental science, engineering or a related field. A PhD would be an advantage. Expertise in Fluvial Geomorphology, River Basin Processes, River Restoration/Renaturalisation, Geomorphological Analysis and Design, Water Framework Directive assessment, and knowledge of Natural Flood Management. Demonstrable technical experience; preferably chartered or on the path to chartered status with a relevant professional institution. An understanding of river basin hydrology and hydraulic modelling, as well as experience modelling geomorphological change, would be advantageous. Not ready to apply yet, or have questions?
