Senior Construction Estimator

We are looking for a skilled SeniorConstruction Estimator to join our team at our Uddingston HQ. If you are passionate about renewable energy and thrive in a fast paced, dynamic environment, we want to hear from you.

The Role

As a SeniorConstruction Estimator with Emtec Energy, you'll play a key role in supporting the Commercial Manager by leading estimating efforts for a diverse range of projects. From individual rooftop solar installations to large scale turnkey renewable energy solutions, you will help drive innovation in the infrastructure and construction sectors.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct tender reviews to fully understand project requirements and timelines.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates (BoQ) and develop compelling tender submissions including programmes of work, risk register and tender qualifications where necessary.
• Create comprehensive tender packs for subcontractors, covering groundworks, electrical installation and other key project aspects.
• Maintain and update project trackers to ensure effective monitoring.
• Work closely with in-house design, procurement and delivery teams to align project goals.
• Attend site visits to gain a thorough understanding of customer needs and project scope.

What You'll Need to Succeed

• A relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
• Previous estimating experience in a contracting environment within construction, civils, infrastructure or M&E sectors.
• Ability to understand client requirements and develop clear, persuasive bids.
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Commercial awareness and a strategic approach to risk management.
• Effective communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel
• Knowledge of current construction and M&E standard and compliance requirements.
• Desirable: Experience in the renewable energy industry and familiarity with Solar PV design software.
