Senior Advisor – UK BAT Environment Agency is looking for a dedicated Senior Advisor to lead the development and implementation of Best Available Techniques (BAT) across UK industry. Job Description Do you want to make a lasting positive change to the environment? As a Senior Advisor in the UK BAT team you will support the drafting of BAT Conclusions, liaise with Technical Working Groups and present a final document suitable for publication as a new, UK-wide environmental standard for industry. Responsibilities Support the drafting of BAT Conclusions and coordinate the publication of technical documents. Liaise with Technical Working Groups and present a final document suitable for publication as a UK-wide environmental standard. Coordinate the work of technical authors, ensuring clear communication and quality assurance. Project manage BAT conclusions, tracking progress and ensuring timely delivery to stakeholders. Manage travel and overnight stays as required, while supporting flexible working patterns. Support the development of an inclusive incident management objective within your development plan. Qualifications At least 5 years of working experience in environmental regulation across a variety of industrial sectors. Solid understanding of UK and EU industrial environmental legislation, particularly the IED and the Environmental Permitting Regulations. Experience coordinating and reviewing the publication of technical documents. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Excellent planning, prioritising and organising tasks and resources to ensure timely and effective results. Ability to adapt flexibly to challenges and build consensus across diverse stakeholder groups. Proven capability to analyse complex industrial data and synthesize it into clear, actionable conclusions. Experience / Skills Required Experience working with the UK BAT Senior Advisor role is essential, with a strong knowledge of environmental policy, best available techniques and the technical requirements for industry wide policy development. We’ll hold a reserve list for six months. Depending on your skills/experience you may be offered an alternative post.
