The role sits in a buy side portfolio under markets, credit trading. The portfolio deploys the part of the banks liquidity and capital into spread products mainly in credit looking to enhance returns for the bank. The team is covered by other banks in the street and optimises deployment through strategic and opportunistic investing across geographies and currencies into Investment grade bonds. Key Responsibilities Responsible for managing and delivering appropriate returns on the CCU Portfolio, optimising the use of liquidity and capital through purchases and sales of spread securities. Identify opportunities in the spread bond market across various asset types that meet the Bank’s RoRWA return hurdle while minimising risk and volatility and maintaining portfolio diversity. End‑to‑end management of the portfolio from execution to booking, pricing, MTM and credit risk management. Manage rates risk in the CCU portfolio, accounting for total rates risk across CT. Assist CT in developing and executing a strategy for optimal use of financial resources, including leverage, funding and RWA, to maximise ROTE. Risk‑manage non‑linear interest rate risk through economic hedging. Generate value add by capturing medium‑term ranges in dollar rates, dynamically adjusting swaps in the FVOCI book. Perform macro‑analysis and model key variables. Generate trade ideas across sovereigns, credit and MBS; create signalling tools and fair‑value calculators to aid idea generation. Define and govern CT business and risk management processes, ensuring compliance with internal and external regulations. Establish and maintain frameworks to ensure processes are efficient, appropriate and compliant. Assist in training team members on investment portfolio management from booking to pricing and risk management. Active risk management on the CCU portfolio, assessing market and credit risks, concentrations by sector and geography, and capital impacts. Manage extensive governance requirements (trade booking, report sign‑off, SCB risk and regulatory framework) and complete required e‑learning. Embed highest standards of ethics, regulatory and business conduct in line with the Group's Values and Code of Conduct. Identify, elevate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters. Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations across jurisdictions. Maintain “Financial Crime Compliance” conduct principles. Key Stakeholders Credit Trading Risk Support and Control functions Modelling and Analytics Group External stakeholders as necessary Skills and Experience Substantial experience in the banking industry, including demonstrated success in a similar role. Strong business acumen to assess risk, return and portfolio composition. Excellent interpersonal skills and multicultural awareness. Ability to work with geographically dispersed and highly varied stakeholders. At least 1–3 years of relevant experience in Structured Credit Trading. Knowledge of market, products and processes: bonds, loans, credit derivatives, FX and interest rate & currency swaps.
