Locum Dentist

Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and adaptable Locum Dentist to provide temporary dental care at our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in general dentistry and specialized procedures, ensuring seamless patient care during interim periods. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, delivering quality dental services while maintaining compliance with all regulatory standards, including HIPAA and infection control protocols. Duties Perform comprehensive dental examinations and assessments utilizing medical and dental terminology. Conduct a wide range of dental procedures including dental extractions, root canal therapy, prosthodontics, endodontics, and oral surgery. Utilize advanced dental technology such as Dental imaging and medical imaging tools to diagnose and plan treatment. Apply aseptic techniques to maintain a sterile environment and prevent infection. Document patient care accurately within electronic health records systems such as Epic, Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or other dental software. Provide patient education on oral health, treatment options, and post-procedure care with a focus on patient-centered care. Collaborate with the dental team to ensure efficient workflow using four-handed dentistry techniques. Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality and privacy. Ensure adherence to infection control standards and proper sterilization procedures throughout all clinical activities. Skills Proficiency in using dental practice management software including SOE. Strong knowledge of pediatric dentistry, including pediatrics-specific procedures and patient management. Expertise in general dentistry procedures along with specialized skills in oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and root canal therapy. Excellent understanding of dental terminology and anatomy knowledge for accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. Ability to perform dental extractions, dental fabrication, and other complex procedures with precision. Experience with medical documentation, medical records management, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry. Skilled in infection control practices and aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety. Effective communication skills for patient assessment, education, and team collaboration.
