Our partner designs, supplies, and installs high-quality workshop and warehouse storage spaces. They are looking for an Estimator to join their friendly team. You will help smooth the flow of the sales process by supporting the Sales team to deliver high‑quality proposals promptly after a visit, which in turn will help increase sales conversion and company growth. The role reports directly to the MD and works closely with the BDM and Designer. There will be significant interaction with suppliers, prospects and clients. Objectives To efficiently and accurately produce costed sales proposals for commercial workshop and storage design solutions which meet customer objectives To obtain prices from suppliers for the proposed solution as suggested by the BDM and/or MD To check for pitfalls within the suggested design and propose workarounds if necessary To ensure the proposal is sent to the customer within agreed time scales Challenge existing company procedure and systems seeking continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities To take a brief from the BDM and/or MD on what is required following their visit or survey To produce fully costed proposals with the correct information, designs and pricing matrix. To brief the Designer (3D) and to help produce accurate drawings (2D) which will form an integral part of the proposal Read and understand technical drawings with the ability to design and amend using AUTOCAD. To be able to identify potential issues with the proposed design or measurements and make corrective suggestions Sense check and challenge the accuracy of information provided by all parties; internal sales and external suppliers Obtain prices from suppliers and challenge where necessary, for example against known volume discounts Ask clarifying questions of the BDM and MD Conduct a professional handover of the final costed proposal back to the BDM and/or MD ready for them to pass it on to the customer (in some cases send direct), and be able to answer any questions or challenges they may have. Working Relationships Reports to the MD, works with the BDM and MD, very close working relationship with the Designer. Location The role is office based near Guildford.
