Job Description This position ensures regulatory compliance is maintained in accordance with the appropriate authority responsible for developing, implementing, maintaining, and monitoring the national civil aviation security program. The role assesses and screens packages to prevent and mitigate possible threats to personnel, aircraft, facilities, and customers’ packages. The position helps keep our personnel, packages, vehicles, aircraft, and facilities safe from unlawful acts against UPS and aircraft by applying and maintaining security controls. The role may use various screening technology, processes, and procedures to screen packages and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Responsibilities Leverage knowledge of all screening processes and regulations to ensure compliance. Participate in and verify daily equipment inspections and maintain a safe environment to ensure operational compliance and efficiency. Comprehend and implement regulatory changes, tools and materials to complete tasks. Operate according to training and collaborate with co‑workers to ensure smooth operation. Perform effective screening using equipment and procedures to prevent prohibited items from entering the air network. Work within tight timelines ensuring all critical deadlines are met. Work as part of a team to safeguard the air cargo network. Deliver the screening process to ensure regulation and process compliance. Escalate quality and process issues to ensure they are handled appropriately by the supervisor. Monitor the general work area’s adherence to processes and regulations. Qualifications Successfully pass security checks, e.g., background, criminal records. Successfully pass eye test (color‑blindness test). Basic literacy & numeracy. Experience working within X‑Ray or similar nature of work. Preferences Professional interest in safety and security. Sound judgment, decision making and good communication skills. Diligent and critical of detail.
