Overview North Middlesex University Hospital NHS Trust is seeking a Senior Consultant in Urology (6th Consultant) to lead a consultant‑led service within our multidisciplinary team, following London Standards of Emergency Care. Key Responsibilities Provide consultant‑led clinical care for 10 Programmed Activities (8.5 PAs direct clinical care and 1.5 PAs supporting professional activities). Participate in a 1‑in‑6 on‑call rota, covering weekends and including weekend ward rounds to meet London Emergency Surgical Standards. Review all patients daily on call, ensuring continuity of care. Take on additional Trust‑wide Service and Quality roles, with 1 SPA to be allocated in place of a DCC (subject to Divisional agreement). Collaborate with the Clinical Manager to develop an individual job plan aligned with the Trust’s Job Planning Guidelines, signed off by the Medical Director or Associate Medical Director. Review job plan annually, typically following an appraisal meeting, and re‑assess after 3 months to confirm suitability. Use the Consultant Contract for England 2003 to guide terms and conditions. Qualifications & Skills Qualified Consultant in Urology with demonstrated experience in emergency and programmed care. Proficiency in managing 1‑in‑6 on‑call schedules and performing weekend ward rounds. Strong leadership and teamwork skills within a multidisciplinary setting. Ability to develop and maintain individual job plans and participate in continuous appraisal processes. Commitment to meeting London standards for emergency surgical care.
