What the role contributes This role supports AXIS’ success by maintaining a market‑leading claims service that helps clients manage complex risks, supporting retention and acquisition of business. Responsibilities Handle personal injury and property damage claims in general liability and medical malpractice, and other liability/PI classes for a variety of professions and commercial clients in the non‑US Professional Lines Division. Collaborate with clients, market leaders, brokers, TPA service providers and external legal advisors to deliver premier claims service. Lead claims from first advice to final settlement, including coverage and liability analysis, reserve evaluation, resolution strategy, and liaison with risk managers, in‑house counsel and experts. Supervised by the GL & Med Mal Claims Lead. Handle Lloyd’s Syndicate, IUA and company claims. Coordinate with underwriters on wording/policy issues, provide claims information and attend client meetings. Engage stakeholders—including claims operations, underwriters, actuaries and internal audit—to improve claims performance. What you need to have Experience with personal injury and/or medical malpractice claims in a claims lead or legal advisory role. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to present clearly in meetings. Strong relationship‑building skills with internal and external stakeholders. Ability to prioritise and organise workload effectively. Sound judgment in complex claim situations. Preferred qualifications Experience in a syndicate, company or broker environment. Knowledge of CLASS/ECF2. Proficiency with Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Legal or professional qualification (e.g., ACII). Role factors Flexible working: office in person 3 days per week.
