About Choices Homecare Choices Homecare is proudly part of the Optimo Care Group that supports service users across the UK with over 1,500 dedicated employees and a strong presence across multiple regions. We collaborate closely with local authorities, healthcare providers, and care professionals to deliver outcome‑focused care. Working Hours Our service provides care 7 days a week between 07:00 – 22:00. Flexible zero‑hour contracts where you can choose to work as many hours as you like. Minimum of 20 hours each week, including every other weekend. Simple 2‑week rolling rota, so you always know your schedule in advance. Location Barnsley Key Responsibilities Of a Care Worker Supporting individuals with personal care needs such as washing, dressing, and toileting. Assisting with medication administration and documentation in line with care plans. Preparing meals and assisting with eating and drinking where required. Promoting independence and encouraging service users to engage in daily living tasks. Building positive relationships with individuals and their families. Supporting emotional well‑being and recognising signs of distress or changes in behaviour. Maintaining accurate records and communicating effectively with colleagues and supervisors. Ensuring a clean, safe, and comfortable environment in the home. Respecting confidentiality and always maintaining professional boundaries. What You’ll Need A caring, compassionate approach. A commitment to putting people first. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Experience preferred but not essential – full training provided. UK driving licence and own vehicle essential for certain routes/locations (fuel allowance 30p per mile). Alternative weekend availability.
