BBC Audio produces a wide range of radio programmes and podcasts for stations including Radio 1, Radio 2, 6 Music, Radio 4, World Service and BBC Sounds. Our teams work with leading names in music, entertainment and journalism to create content enjoyed across the UK and globally. As an apprentice, you'll support production teams behind the scenes, helping ensure everything runs smoothly across studio, office and location-based work.This is our entry level position into production management; you will work as a Production Management Assistant, supporting our Production Managers and Production Coordinators in creating quality content for all of our output, which may include TV, audio, online, events and digital platforms.YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT As a Junior Production Coordinator apprentice with BBC Audio , this is a brilliant opportunity to learn, grow, and contribute - you may demonstrate the following:Support production teams with admin tasks and logisticsMeet and greet guests and contributorsHelp organise production meetings and travel arrangementsType up scripts and running ordersAssist with studio operations and production paperworkOn successful completion of your apprenticeship, you will be able to apply for job roles such as a Production Management Assistant, Production Secretary or Production Coordinator, depending on experience both inside and outside of the BBC.To understand more about what working in Production Management is like, please take a look at the following links;Click here to find out more about when making TV contentClick here to find out more about when making audio contentYou'll study for your industry recognised apprenticeship qualification, learning both on the job at the BBC and off the job with our chosen education provider. The academic study involves attending instructor-led workshops; tutorial sessions; presentations and group work. Throughout your apprenticeship, you will be asked to gather a portfolio of evidence and work on an end point assessment that demonstrates your learning, while working towards a Level 4 apprenticeship qualification.This apprenticeship will give you a thorough knowledge and understanding of what it is like to work in production management and the media industry, which you can then utilise during your time at the BBC and afterwards in the wider industry.For more information on the apprenticeship standard you will be studying please click here.YOUR SKILLS AND ELIGIBILITY We're interested in your passion for working at the BBC and your enthusiasm for delivering world-class content and operational excellence to our audiences. If you have a degree and you're interested in similar roles at the BBC, we recommend applying for jobs at the BBC careers site or having a look at our other apprenticeship schemes.ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA To be eligible for an apprenticeship at the BBC, you must:Be 18 years old or over by the time the apprenticeship begins in September 2026Have lived in the UK continuously for the last 3 years prior to the start of the apprenticeshipBe legally eligible to work full-time in the UK for the entire duration of the apprenticeshipNot currently be enrolled in another apprenticeship programme, whether with the BBC or another organisationFor candidates under the age of 19 years at the start of the apprenticeship, you must have achieved Maths and English GCSE at Grade 4/C or above or National 5 (Scotland) at C or Functional Skills Level 2 or equivalent qualification. If you have not achieved these qualifications, you will be required to achieve Functional Skills Level 2 before the end of your apprenticeship when you take your end-point assessmentTo apply for this scheme, you must also:Must be passionate about the production management side of making content.
