The Clinical Audit Officer reports to the Senior Clinical Audit Officer and, on certain projects, to the Business Manager, Quality Manager, and Data Analyst. The role is responsible for implementing the annual trust‑wide clinical audit programme, providing specialist audit support and advice to all professional groups, and ensuring the effective translation of audit findings into practice improvement. Conduct clinical audits, produce clear and succinct reports, and create concise PowerPoint summaries. Facilitate service improvement activities and deliver presentations to relevant teams. Act as a key link between the corporate audit department and audit programmes in directorates and Clinical Academic Groups. Manage Tendable portals, assisting with user management, inspection data and back‑end operations. Ensure that recommendations are recorded, followed up and implemented effectively. Communicate audit results, promote user involvement, and facilitate teams to act on changes. Produce regular audit newsletters and develop Trust web pages showcasing audit activity. Provide basic and advanced audit training to staff. Person Specification Essential criteria Experience with research, clinical audit and/or quality improvement work. Degree or equivalent clinical experience. Strong Excel, analytical and data‑management skills. Knowledge of clinical governance principles, audit methodology and quantitative/qualitative analysis. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Excellent written and verbal communication, liaising with internal and external stakeholders. Team‑player mindset and willingness to learn. Desirable criteria Post‑graduate or clinical qualification relevant to the field. Experience in change management and improvement facilitation within a healthcare setting. Experience delivering training courses and presenting to large groups. Experience working in a mental health environment. Familiarity with Tendable back‑end and user‑management portals.
