Teaching Assistants – SEMH Primary School (Wembley HA0)
Monday–Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm | Term Time Only
Pay: £105–£110 per day
Start: ASAP or January 2026
Are you passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? Do you have experience supporting primary-aged pupils and a desire to work within a nurturing, therapeutic school environment? If so, we would love to hear from you.
About Us
We are an independent Therapeutic Primary School in Wembley, providing a place of hope and opportunity for children aged 5–11 who face unique challenges and may find mainstream education inaccessible. Our school offers a nurturing haven where pupils receive a broad and balanced curriculum alongside targeted therapeutic support.
With small classes, high staff ratios, and a dedicated team, we build strong, positive relationships with pupils and their families. Our tri-part therapy model—Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language Therapy and Creative Play Therapy—ensures holistic support and celebrates every step of progress, big or small.
The Role
We are seeking committed Teaching Assistants to join our team. You will play a vital role in supporting pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development, helping them build confidence, develop key life skills, and work towards their next educational steps—whether specialist or mainstream.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide classroom support across a broad and balanced curriculum
* Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils and families
* Support pupils with SEMH needs through positive behaviour strategies
* Assist in creating a safe, reflective, and nurturing learning environment
* Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support staff
* Help pupils break down learning and behaviour targets into small, measurable steps
Requirements
* Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
* Prior experience in primary education (essential)
* Experience supporting pupils with SEMH needs (highly desirable)
* A degree in Psychology or related field is an advantage
* A compassionate, patient, and resilient approach
* Commitment to supporting pupils’ academic and emotional wellbeing
Why Join Us?
* A warm, close-knit community where every staff member is valued
* Small class sizes with high levels of support
* Opportunities for ongoing development within a therapeutic setting
* The chance to make a real difference in the lives of vulnerable children
If you are motivated, empathetic, and eager to support pupils on their educational journey, this could be the perfect role for you.
Apply now to become part of a team where every achievement is recognised—and every child is supported to reach their full potential.
