This is an exciting opportunity for a Practice Nurse tojoin a friendly, dynamic and forward-thinking practice located in the East ofSouthampton. We are interested in a candidate who is already a fullyfunctioning nurse. As a Practice Nurse, you will provide care for patients for wound management/injections/baby immunisations/Cervical Screenings/ECG's and Dopplers.The working pattern is negotiable withopportunities for flexible working arrangements.Main duties of the jobAs a Practice Nurse, you will provide care for patients for wound management/injections/baby immunisations/Cervical Screenings/ECG's and Dopplers.About usWe are a diverse and friendly team ofGPs, Physician Associate, Clinical Pharmacists, Advanced Nurse Practitioners,Paramedic, Social Prescriber, Nurses and HCAs who work together to provide high-qualitycare for 20,000 patients in the Southampton area.We are a well organised and hardworking team with along-established high QoF achievement. We actively support learning throughregular clinical meetings and teaching events. Everyone has an opportunity tovoice opinions as to how the practice can be improved. The clinical workload isset at a realistic level, with time allocated for admin and additionalresponsibilities.Our friendly and supportive admin/reception teamassist in reducing admin workload as much as possible. We are also a teachingpractice for allied professional students across Hampshire.Duringthe COVID pandemic, we have adapted our service to operate a triage system thathelps us identify and prioritise our sickest patients and those who can safelybe re-directed to self-care services. We also launched an online platformcalled eConsult, where patients can contact us digitally. All our rooms areequipped with video calling and double screen monitors.We are active in the Bitterne Primary Care Network,with a partner having shared responsibility as a clinical director. Our PCNEducation Environment Lead also helps to ensure staff opportunities to meet anypersonal development goals.Job responsibilitiesBlood pressure recordingRecording of ECGPerform urinalysisHeight and weight measurementAdministering IM, SC, and ID injectionsUndertake ear irrigationSpecimen collection (e.g. MSSU, EMU, nasal, throat and wound swabs)Dressing of wounds, including post-operative wounds.Removal of sutures, clips and staplesTreatment of minor injuries/ailmentsGiving appropriate and predetermined advice and guidance to patients on healthy eating and livingChildhood immunisationsTravel health advice including preparation of immunisation schedules and administration of travel vaccinesThe Practice Nurse may also be required to assist in other procedures under the supervision of a Doctor and in accordance with the NMC guidelines.To report any problems/changes/complaints concerning the practice and the quality of medical care provided to patients to the Practice ManagerInput and code patient clinical information in to the practice clinical systemEnsure relevant nGMS prompts for the Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF) are coded and recorded appropriatelyPerson SpecificationQualificationsExcellent communication skills (written and oral)Clear, polite telephone mannerEffective time managementAbility to work as a team member and autonomouslyExcellent interpersonal skillsProblem solving & analytical skillsAbility to follow clinical policy and procedureExperience with clinical risk managementEMIS Web / Docman 10 software experienceExperience with audit and able to lead audit programmesDisclosure and Barring Service CheckThis post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions. #J-18808-Ljbffr
