Summary Provide engineering expertise on multiple programs with high complexity in one or more of the following areas: Test, Supplier, Process and/or SMT. Continually optimize processes to predictably produce existing customers’ and new customers products ensuring cost, quality and delivery goals are achieved. Provide training to operations group and entry level Engineers. Responsibilities Must possess a very strong background in a medium to high volume, system level, mechanical assembly and/or SMT manufacturing environment. Technically advanced experience and knowledge in one or more of the following areas: Process, Test, Supplier and/or SMT engineering. Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interfacing internally and externally with customers and suppliers on technical matters. Demonstrate abilities as a self‑motivated team player with ability to multi‑task. Facilitate ECO implementation with BOM/ECO analysis. Review customer ECO’s to ensure that changes to products are properly documented and will not have any detrimental impact to product quality or production capacity. Provide technical assistance on customer product specifications such as labels, programmable devices, test routines, quality goals, mechanical assembly requirements and product performance criteria. Provide engineering support to the production processes. Assist operators in utilizing the shop floor system as required. Participate in quality teams representing the engineering function and assume lead role during the NPI stage. Generate and drive corrective action on all CARs. Generate procedures, Process Alerts, Purges, Deviations and other process documentation. Responsible for full quoting activity on prospective NPI’s. Lead in the NPI process and provide support to the product team, suppliers and customers. Generate DFM and DFT analysis and cost reductions with the customer and suppliers. Troubleshoot and facilitate product design changes to improve DFM. Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Industrial/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience. 7+ years engineering experience in a manufacturing environment. 5+ years’ experience as a Senior level or equivalent Engineer. Certificates in related fields a plus. Test/Manufacturing/Process Development background. Universal SMT Equipment knowledge a plus. Willingness to work flexible hours as necessary.
