Child Support Assistant Location: Kings Heath (Child lives in B16) Working pattern: 5 days per week Age group: Children aged 5-11 Role Overview We are seeking a caring and dedicated individual to support a pupil with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and diabetes. The role involves providing personal care, supporting the child's medical needs, and ensuring their wellbeing throughout the school day. The position will be through Aspire People, and the start date is ASAP. Key Responsibilities Provide daily care and support for a child with SLD and diabetes. Undertake diabetes training (provided) and assist with monitoring and management. Re-adjust cannula if the child removes it. Support with personal care needs. Work collaboratively with school staff to ensure inclusion and safety. Travel with the child from B16 if required, using their free taxi service. Requirements Experience with SEN children or willingness to learn. Some medical training/experience preferred (diabetes or similar conditions). Must hold a valid DBS. Compassionate, patient, and reliable with a person-centred approach. Additional Information The child does not require PEG feeding. Pay is £90-£104 per day. Training and support will be provided.
