HGV Mechanic Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 per annum Hours: Monday-Thursday 7:30am-5:00pm, Friday 7:30am-4:00pm, and Saturdays on a rotational basis (7:45am-12:30pm) Location: Cookstown Are you an experienced HGV Mechanic looking to join a well-established and growing equipment rental company? This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled professional to play a key role in maintaining and repairing a diverse fleet of heavy goods vehicles – ensuring safety, reliability, and operational excellence. The Role Carry out routine maintenance and repairs on a varied fleet including low loaders, HIAB cranes, tractor units, and rigid trucks. Diagnose faults using diagnostic software, carry out necessary repairs, and liaise with the Stores department to source required parts. Maintain accurate service records and job sheets. Assist with occasional roadside breakdowns. Ensure all work meets health and safety standards and maintain a clean, efficient workshop environment. The Person Proven experience as a mechanic, ideally with exposure to a range of HGVs and heavy vehicles. Strong knowledge of diesel engines and diagnostic tools. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Team player with a focus on delivering quality work. Experience within the truck and trailer industry is essential. Relevant mechanical qualification is desirable. Welding skills and a full driving licence are advantageous.
