You just found it.Field Service EngineerArea to be worked in: United KingdomWe are looking for a Field Service Engineer to contribute towards our service team covering our Applikon portfolio of products.Responsible for maintaining, repairing, and re-validating equipment within the Life Science market segment of the business. You will have the opportunity to make a difference by utilising your technical knowledge and skills to ensure the smooth operation of our equipment in the field, representing the business and building relationships with customers and colleagues to deliver the best possible service.This is a field-based role and you will need to be a self-starter with experience of managing your own workload. Although you will be mostly working independently, you will be supported by regular contact with the Service Office, Service Managers and our Technical Services Department which has direct access to Getinge manufacturing sites and a wealth of technical know-how and expertise.The successful candidate will have a background and relevant qualifications in Mechanical or Electronic Engineering. Comprehensive training on Getinge’s equipment will be provided by our dedicated in-house training team. Through our Career Progression Pathway, all Engineers have their development assessed bi-annually against our bespoke Engineers’ competency- based banding structure – meaning that the more you learn and develop, the more you will be rewarded.Day To Day Responsibilities Will IncludeDealing with customers, demonstrating first class interpersonal skills in a courteous and professional manner at all timesCarrying out routine testing of equipment to the relevant standards and undertaking mechanical servicing of equipmentProblem solving, combining initiative with a practical and logical approach to all aspects of the jobElectrical / mechanical fault finding of equipmentPromoting the Applikon products, service and image.Calibration of equipment, where necessary, reporting all faulty equipment or equipment out of calibration to the Line ManagerMaintaining and monitoring adequate stock levels of spare parts in order to be able to respond to call-outs in a timely mannerProducing quality service documentation for submission to the customerMaintaining regular communication with the internal Service Department, Technical Department and Service Managers.Following the correct returns and non-conformance report procedures at all timesOrganising and prioritising a continuously changing workload, ensuring that all customers’ calls and enquiries are responded to quickly and effectivelyProducing accurate and timely written/electronic reports, as and when required/requested.Providing Validation reports in specified time frames.Assisting team members as and when required/requested.Providing sales leads to relevant Service/Sales ManagersObserving and complying with Quality System duties and responsibilities at all timesObserving and complying with company and on-site Health & Safety requirements at all timesWho You AreAt Getinge, we are looking for passionate individuals, who are agile, resilient, take responsibility for their development and focus on achieving excellence. If you enjoy collaboration and working in diverse and international teams, never compromise on quality and always act responsibly remembering that our customers come first, we would love to hear from you.What You NeedQualifications:Minimum City & Guilds Level 3 or an equivalent qualification in electrical and/or mechanical engineering.Experience as Field Service Engineer desirable, ideally within the bioreactor industry.Good knowledge of computer hardware and software.Good knowledge of Mechanics, Electrics, Electronics and Hydraulics is desirable.Knowledge/experiencePrevious knowledge and experience of service/testing of bioreactors devices to the appropriate standards (desired).Previous experience in a maintenance/service engineer environment preferably within the bioreactor industry.Self-motivatedWillingness to travel (within UK, with occasional EU travel for customer related ot training purposes (e.g. Deflt, Holland)Good contact skills and representative customer-oriented attitudeWhat We OfferWe offer a competitive compensation and benefits package, to ensure we support your well-being and goals.
