GSC Manchester TET is acting as an Employment Business in relation to this vacancy.Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical Performance: apply technical knowledge of related accounting principles (such as GAAP) to carry out higher value/complex accounting activities; provide relevant advice, guidance, and approval in accordance with delegated underwriting authority limits to meet business objectivesEnsure the team complies with internal and external regulations and guidelinesReview and analyse functional performance to identify and influence progress towards business objectivesContribute to the Business Optimisation agenda by bringing together financial, capital, risk, volatility and historical performance metrics to identify profit opportunities and under-performance challengesConduct and present analysis to the senior leadership team (including papers to the Board and Executive Committee as required) to provide oversight of Aspen's financesContribute to the development of Finance technology toolsets to support corporate planning and financial solutionsUtilise financial tools to develop insightful analysis that supports commercial decision-makingContinually develop subject matter expertise and technical knowledge by identifying and implementing learning and development activitiesPolicy, Process and ProceduresProvide expert guidance to ensure accuracy, good practice and adherence to prescribed standardsComplete transactions within a broader range of value and complexity, ensuring operational processes, files, documentation and systems are maintainedInterpret organisation goals and regulatory requirements; review, analyse and suggest improvements for compliance, effectiveness, and risk managementEnvironmental Awareness / Customer FocusAct as a senior technical expert and designated point of contact for colleagues, providing advice and guidance and promoting understanding of functional needs and standardsDevelop relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure service delivery meets expectationsNetwork with colleagues to share best practices and identify optimal service delivery optionsEngage with external peers to understand market context and regulatory developmentsParticipate in internal and external meetings to develop knowledge of Aspen and its processesRepresent the function by providing support and technical input to project teams to ensure solutions reflect functional needsRequirements & SkillsRelevant degree and accounting professional qualification (CA, ACCA, ACA)Insurance industry experienceExperience resolving complex finance or accounting queries and working with specialist toolsets or applicationsEstablished senior-level relationships with customers/suppliers/professional bodies relevant to the roleLloyd's market experience is desirableStrong written and verbal communication, including presentation and technical writing skillsTeamwork - ability to collaborate and work flexibly with othersAbility to build strong business relationships across a global businessExcellent analytical skillsResearch skills – awareness of emerging issues, including regulations, industry practices, and new technologiesExtensive and relevant knowledge of finance discipline and overall Finance strategyTechnical understanding of service parameters and delegated authorities; understanding how this role contributes to performanceKnowledge of finance systems, processes and toolsets used in the disciplineRegulatory knowledge related to GAAP, FCA/Lloyds regulation; knowledge of local/regional accounting standardsKnowledge of the market Aspen operates in and London Market OperationsEmployment detailsGSC Manchester TET is acting as an Employment Business in relation to this vacancy.There are multiple related openings and updates listed with locations including London and surrounding areas. #J-18808-Ljbffr
