From strategic marketing and financial management to human resources and operational oversight, you’ll have the opportunity to optimize processes and implement game-changing policies.ResponsibilitiesPosition Purpose : The Data Center / Facilities Engineer is responsible for supporting all StoneX data centers and offices around the globe, including local areas where they reside. This role will support the physical installations of hardware in our Data Centers and Offices, manage office buildouts, resolve production issues, coordinate with local hands with IMAC (installs, moves, adds, and changes. Must be able to and manage / oversee electrical, mechanical, monitoring, and control systems.Data Center / Facilities Essential ResponsibilitiesAssist with building the processes and procedures that ensure the data centers operate at maximum operational efficiency. These duties may include analysing existing operating conditions, recommending innovative technologies, improving overall efficiency, and driving cost reduction through refactoring DC footprint configurationsAssist with coordinating access to Data centers for both internal and external engineers / vendors.Implement controls to proactively monitor power, cooling, and environment events and create trend reports to address issues.Manage remotely and sometimes physically the installation of various cross-connects and carrier circuits. The engineer must have extensive knowledge of different cable types, including copper, fiber, twinax and AOC cables to efficiently troubleshoot circuit issues.Perform daily, weekly, and monthly inspections and maintenance of infrastructure supporting data center operationsAnalyse and resolve mechanical and electrical problems within the data centers.Supervise sub-contractors and ensure all necessary preventative maintenance and emergency repairs are scheduled and performedDirectly interface with construction management teams, contractors, and consultants for all phased data center construction commissioning, including integration and testing of new systems while maintaining critical systems onlineRespond to Data Center and facility emergencies as required, on call 24 / 7 as needed. A majority if not all the work in production environments must be done on the weekends.Manage Data center work orders / tickets by completing necessary documentation and scheduling of resources. This duty includes reviewing and updating data center documentation and assessing risk to the business.Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills are necessary for all cable mediumsQualificationsTo Land this Role you will need5+ years’ experience working / installing in both data center and facilities.5+ years’ experience / knowledge of Data Center and Office electrical and mechanical systemsParticipate in 24 / 7 on call rotation with other team membersKnowledge of Best Practices / Industry StandardsService Now / JIRA / Asset MGMT experience a plusKnowledge of server, network, and storage systems a plusCapturing and maintaining accurate inventory records of all equipment within data centersEnsuring compliance with cabling best practices, regulations, and standardsColocation knowledge and the innerworkings experience necessaryWorking knowledge of testing equipment for copper and fiberWhat makes you stand out :Rack / Stack and cabling various data center systemsService Now / JIRA experience a plusExcel / PowerPoint / Viso knowledgeThe ability to be proactive and reactive when the situation presents itselfResearch, evaluate, and make recommendations to reduce expenses.Evaluate offices and potential new offices prior to work commencing.Supervise office and equipment moves that require coordination with other teams.Coordinate efforts to ensure equipment and circuits are installed and properly working.Monitor the progress of orders.Upkeep of facilities hardware.Provide oversight, coordination, and records of facilities contractors for StoneX : HVAC, UPS, and emergency generator.Respond to facility emergencies as required. Participate in an on-call 24 / 7 rotation.Strong organization and time-management skills. A near obsessive compulsion to maintain accurate work records and event logs.Work with various recyclers for EOL equipment and other office equipment that is no longer in service.Ability to multitask and comfortable with changing prioritiesA flexible work schedule to work evenings, weekends & holidays when necessary. Compensation time will be provided.Excellent working knowledge of hosting industry and data center best practicesAble to adhere to change control processes and willing to enforce data center security policiesExperience with electrical systems maintenance or refrigeration systems, repairs, and troubleshooting, building controls, and safe work practices is necessaryWorking Environment :HybridMust have the ability to lift 50-75lbsWeekends and late nights#LI-Hybrid #LI-IM1 #J-18808-Ljbffr
