Electrical Technician - North Yorkshire Our client, a global leader in engineering solutions, is seeking a skilled Electrical Technician to join their team at their state‑of‑the‑art manufacturing facility in North Yorkshire. The Role As an Electrical Technician, you will play a key role in the assembly, wiring, and testing of electrical and electronic components, subassemblies, and systems. Working to exacting quality and safety standards, you will help bring complex subsea equipment to life – contributing directly to the delivery of high‑performance engineering solutions used worldwide. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong technical background who enjoys hands‑on electrical assembly and problem‑solving in a collaborative, high‑tech environment. Key Responsibilities Assemble and test electronic/electrical subassemblies and full assemblies following engineering drawings, schematics, and work orders. Perform precision wiring, soldering, and cabling on harnesses, control panels, and connector systems. Conduct functional testing and limited troubleshooting of electrical assemblies. Operate computer‑controlled systems as part of the build and test process. Maintain high standards of quality, accuracy, and safety throughout all work. Ensure departmental build and efficiency targets are achieved. Complete all documentation and records to ISO9001 standards. Support good housekeeping and continuous improvement practices across the workshop. Essential Skills & Experience 1-5 years' experience in an electrical or electronic assembly environment. Strong understanding of electrical/electronic systems and production processes. Competence in low‑voltage AC/DC wiring and looming, high‑voltage installations, control and data systems, fibre optic handling and termination. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics. Excellent attention to detail, organisation, and communication skills. Commitment to quality, safety, and meeting deadlines. Qualifications ONC (or equivalent) in Electrical/Electronic Engineering – desirable but not essential. 18th Edition certification preferred. Personal Attributes Hardworking and proactive, with a strong team ethic. Comfortable working under pressure and managing detailed tasks. Safety‑conscious with a positive approach to continuous improvement. Willingness to travel occasionally if required.
