Industrial Placement Project Manager Industrial Placement Project Manager role at OCU. OCU Group is a leading utility engineering contractor. We are looking for a Project Manager specialising in water projects in the UK to oversee planning, execution, and completion of water‑related engineering projects. Role Overview As a Project Manager specialising in water projects, you will coordinate stakeholders, manage project teams, and ensure projects are delivered within scope, budget, and schedule while driving efficiency, quality, and safety throughout the project lifecycle. Duties and Responsibilities Project Planning and Initiation: Define objectives, scope, and deliverables; develop comprehensive plans; conduct feasibility studies; obtain approvals and permits. Team Management: Build and lead multidisciplinary teams; assign tasks; foster collaboration. Budget and Cost Control: Manage budgets; monitor expenses; implement cost‑saving measures. Schedule and Progress Monitoring: Develop schedules and milestones; monitor progress; report status; implement corrective actions. Risk Management: Identify risks, develop mitigation plans, address emerging issues. Quality Assurance and Compliance: Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations; conduct inspections and audits. Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE): Promote safety culture; enforce protocols; comply with HSE regulations. Client Communication and Stakeholder Management: Maintain communication with clients; manage relationships with stakeholders. Project Closure and Documentation: Review outcomes; prepare final reports, as‑built drawings, and lessons learned. Skills and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or related field. Proven experience in project management, preferably water projects. Strong leadership and team management skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Proficiency in project management software and tools. Knowledge of UK water industry standards, regulations and best practices. PMP certification is a plus. Full UK driving licence; travel to sites required.
