OverviewJoin to apply for the Senior Planner role at Octavius Infrastructure. Octavius Infrastructure is delighted to announce it has been appointed by Network Rail to the North-West and Central (NW&C) Capital Delivery Framework for Major Projects for Control Period 7. Octavius has secured a place on Lot A2, covering multi-discipline projects valued between £7 million and £50 million, encompassing building, civils and railway engineering. To support the projects on this framework, Octavius is looking for an experienced Senior Planner to join the team. One of these will include Cottam Parkway, a new station on the Blackpool to Preston line. This is a hybrid role, based at Network Rail's office at Manchester Piccadilly Station or Birmingham New Street, coupled with home working.You’ll be working on…. (what your role and responsibility is)ResponsibilitiesDevelop, produce and update programmes for multiple projects.Work with the estimators and delivery team to produce programmes that are commercially attractive to the client.Help the team to identify and evaluate the risks within the project, not only with regards to planning, but the project as a whole.Ensure that legislative, Octavius' and customers' mandatory policies and procedures are delivered appropriately within the governance framework.Develop relationships with other teams to ensure that we share resources, innovation, and process to deliver efficiently as one.Identify better and/or more efficient ways of achieving the current outcomes.Put safety, health and wellbeing at the heart of decision making.Put the Environment and Sustainability at the heart of decision making.Actively participate in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) events.BenefitsWe offer a competitive rewards package, including a Company Car scheme, Private Healthcare, Pension, Life Assurance cover, 25 days Annual Leave (and a day off for your birthday). You will also have access to Hybrid working where possible, an enhanced Paternity & Maternity package and the opportunity to develop yourself personally and professionally.About YouCivil Engineering knowledge with relevant experience in suitable disciplines (Experience in Rail infrastructure to include Electrification is required).An excellent understanding in applying planning software to create clear, comprehensible and realistic programmes.The ability to plan from first principles.Knowledge of planning software (such as MS-Project, Asta Powerproject or P6 Primavera).Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.Good level of NEC4 knowledge, and knowledge of how it should be applied to the contract programme.Understanding of construction design.You’ll BringA related degree, diploma, or vocational qualification, or equivalent demonstrable experience in Civil Engineering.Completion of courses relevant to a career in planning.Previous experience working for a tier one contracting group operating in civil engineering.Inclusion and diversity are important to us.
