Main duties of the job Be responsible for the assessment, planning and provision of high‑quality programmes of podiatric care in both acute and community settings. Act as the lead clinician in Nail Surgery clinics where surgical procedures are performed under local anaesthetic. Provide routine assessment and specialist podiatry competencies such as MSK, wound management, etc. Manage patients with complex pathologies to maintain mobility, independence and lower‑limb viability. Maintain compliance with excellent infection prevention and control standards. Person Specification Training & Qualifications – Essential Podiatry degree/honours/diploma in podiatric medicine Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council Evidence of continued professional development, including reflective practice Local anaesthetic certificate Experience – Essential Knowledge and experience of surgical procedures, biomechanical examinations and orthotic prescription techniques and provision. Organisational skills and the ability to work without supervision, as candidates will be expected to manage their own caseload. Ability to deal with stressful situations such as bereavement, verbal abuse, busy clinics and anxious patients. Ability to work as part of a team. Computer literacy skills. Knowledge & Skills – Essential Sound clinical knowledge of the management of pathology, including diabetes, peripheral vascular disease, renal and rheumatological conditions. Good verbal and written communication skills to liaise with staff at all levels and with patients of varied understanding. Ability to produce, document, implement and evaluate care plans. Awareness of the roles of other professionals working in the multidisciplinary team. Ability to work as an autonomous professional with experience of multi‑professional and cross‑organisation working. Other – Essential Ability to meet the travel needs of the post.
