As a Commercial Underwriter, you will involve working with selected brokers to optimize profitable growth from these accounts.

You will apply a range of underwriting, relationship management, and business development techniques. This applies to new and existing business within our agreed process and defined underwriting guidelines. You will spend most of your time working with your broker panel identifying, discussing, negotiating new and existing business opportunities and making effective underwriting decisions.

As the Commercial Underwriter, you will typically be handling cases ranging from £10,000 - £100,000 premium.

About you

To be successful in your role, you will ideally have experience within Commercial Underwriting with either an insurance company background or a broking background. However, we will consider applications from candidates who have insurance experience within another line of business or from a similar background such as claims or customer service.

You will need to be able to build relationships with brokers in order to win New Business and secure Existing Business opportunities.
