Join the SEN Central team SEN Central is currently recruiting dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants for schools supply work in Derby and the surrounding Derby area. About the Role You will be supporting SEN pupils on a 1 : 1 and group basis with a range of needs across SEN and mainstream Schools in the Derby area. Working Hours Monday to Friday - School hours What we are looking for We are looking for SEN Teaching Assistants with the following skills; Experience in 1 : 1 support in either key Stage 1,2 and 3 A calm, patient and empathetic nature A proactive and flexible approach to supporting individual learning needs A good understanding of safeguarding and SEN best practices Strong engagement skills Experience in supporting young people with either SEMH, ESBD, Autism, communication and sensory needs or complex needs Strong Communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal Patience, empathy, and dedication in the role Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and to use own initiative Relevant qualification in either Childcare / Teaching support / Health and Social Care / Relevant Degree Previous experience of supporting young people within a care setting / residential care setting is helpful (not essential) Resilient, committed and reliable All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role.
