Senior Electrical Contracts Manager About the role We re seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Contracts Manager to oversee a major commercial hospital project, managing all electrical works from design coordination through to commissioning and handover. This is a freelance opportunity for a proven leader with a strong technical background in electrical building services and healthcare environments. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage all electrical aspects of the hospital project from pre-construction through completion. Oversee multiple electrical teams and subcontractors, ensuring high standards of quality, safety, and compliance. Review and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and designs; ensure works are executed in line with project requirements. Manage programme, budgets, and procurement in coordination with the Project Director and Commercial Manager. Ensure full compliance with health & safety policies, including RAMS, PPE, and safe systems of work. Coordinate with design consultants, main contractors, and other trade leads to resolve technical and scheduling issues. Oversee testing, inspection, and commissioning documentation; ensure all certification and handover paperwork is complete. Lead progress meetings, identify risks and opportunities, and implement corrective actions where required. Support final snagging, defect rectification, and project close-out documentation. Maintain accurate reporting, project records, and cost tracking throughout the contract lifecycle. Required Qualifications & Skills Minimum 5+ years experience in an Electrical Contracts Manager or Senior Electrical Supervisor role on large-scale commercial or healthcare projects. Demonstrable experience delivering hospital or healthcare electrical installations to HTM standards. Strong leadership, coordination, and communication skills. Valid ECS Gold Card and SSSTS / SMSTS certification. Full UK Driving Licence. Excellent knowledge of electrical design, installation, and commissioning processes.
