We are looking for anIT Assistant full or part time to work with our friendly and supportive team atFaversham Medical Group working at Faversham Medical Practice and Newton PlaceSurgery.Employmentwill be by Faversham Medical Group.However, this role is an Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme (ARRS)funded role across Faversham Primary Care Network (PCN)This positionrequires working Bank Holidays due to our Urgent Treatment Centre being open 7days a week 8am to 8pm.Main duties of the jobThe purpose of the role is to support Faversham Medical Group [FMG] with IT services across Faversham Primary Care Network [PCN]:Being responsible for supporting the organisation by maintainingits technology and by supporting the IT Manager of FMG.Undertaking a variety of IT dutiesto assist in the smooth running of the practice.Assisting with the creation andsuccessful implementation of a wide range of IT platforms.About usFaversham Medical Group consists of 2 GP surgeries;Faversham Medical Practice and Newton Place Surgery. We also run an UrgentTreatment Centre based at Faversham Health Centre.We are a friendly and supportive team.Faversham is a beautiful, historic market town. It is closeto the vibrant city of Canterbury; just 60 miles from London and yet withineasy reach of attractive coastline areas and beaches.Job responsibilitiesThe duties and responsibilities to beundertaken by the IT assistant may include any or all of the items in thefollowing list. Duties may be variedfrom time to time under the direction of the IT Manager/Business Managers,dependent on current and evolving practice workload and staffing levels:Act as the initial point of contact for Faversham Medical Groupstaff seeking IT support, providing prompt resolution to technical issues tominimise service disruptions.Log, track, and manage IT support requests with external serviceproviders, ensuring timely follow-up and resolution of issues.Provide frontline support for various IT systems, including PCs,laptops, printers, tablets, telephones, touchscreen kiosks, and card machines.Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues, ordering replacements, andescalating complex problems when necessary.Support the setup of new staff, including workstation preparation,account creation [Including but not limited to Windows, EMIS, NHS Mail,eConsult, IP phone system], and providing basic IT induction.Maintain the IT asset register, and conducting regular audits toensure accurate inventory and manage stock.Develop expertise in clinical software, EMIS, and become a keyresource for staff training and support.Assistthe IT Manager to:Install, configure, and maintain IT hardware and software,including phone systems and the clinical systems user base, ensuring systemsare secure and fully operational across the organisation.Administer and maintain local IT infrastructure, includingstructured cabling, network distribution and workstation cable management.Monitor and maintain IT security by ensuring software updates,antivirus protection, and educating users on security best practices.Support clinical systems like EMIS, offering staff training andtroubleshooting assistance as a key user.Carry out IT-related projects such as system upgrades, migrations,and process automation.Ensure compliance with the Data Security and Protection Toolkit [DSPT] and other relevant IT policies and standards.Act as a point of contact for third-party vendors regardingwarranty issues, procurement, and support claims.Develop and maintenance of Practice documentation, resources,training manuals, and user guidance to promote staff understanding and support.Relocate and reconfigure IT equipment during internal moves toensure continued operational efficiency.Maintain the functionality of digital systems, such as waitingroom displays, touchscreen kiosks, and meeting screen setup.Provide advice and solutions for technical issues, ensuringminimal recurrence.Deal with other tasks and projects as and when required, includingcomplex queries, backups, and virus protection tasks.Person SpecificationKnowledge and SkillsA great working knowledge of computer and other skills relating to computers and IT (as well as a passion for all things digital media)To effectively communicate with different groups and individuals in various situations.Ability to troubleshoot and repair issues.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Able to prioritise and manage own workload.Ability to analyse and interpret information and present results in a clear and concise manner.Able to work to deadlines whilst maintaining data protection and confidentiality.Able to demonstrate commitment and understanding of confidentiality in relation to the post.Ability to work under pressure and with flexibility.Evidence of organisational skills.QualificationsGCSE grade A to C in English & Maths or equivalent level.IT recognised qualification appropriate for the role.ExperienceExcellent working knowledge of various IT systems including Microsoft Packages and Website tools.Proven experience working within a role that would provide you with the necessary transferable skills required to undertake the role effectively.Experience of coordinating and liaising with multiple stakeholders or individuals to meet specified outcomes.Experience of working within a team.Experience of undertaking an IT support role.Experience of networkingExperience using EMIS software.NHS or recent practice experience.OtherEvidence of the ability to grasp new concepts and work on a self-directed basis.Demonstrate due regard for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.Interest in/aptitude for learning new skills/taking on new challenges.Ability to work Bank HolidaysEvidence of recent self-directed learning or development.Disclosure and Barring Service CheckThis post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions. #J-18808-Ljbffr
