About the Post This post is primarily based at HMPYOI Lilias, a low‑supervision prison for young people and women, but the post holder may be moved between the four prison sites if needed to meet exigencies of the service. It is a Band 6 Addiction Charge Nurse role within the Healthcare Team at HMPYOI Lilias. The post holder will operate as part of an extensive multi‑disciplinary team in the capacity of an Addictions Charge Nurse. Responsibilities include: Carrying continuing responsibility for the assessment of patients, implementing and evaluating interventions and care plans. Setting standards of care in line with MAT standards, and developing the addictions service to meet prisoner healthcare needs. Participating in the range of mandatory training on induction, including Basic Life Support, Moving and Handling, Breakaway Training, Suicide Risk Management Training, and Fire Awareness Training. Qualifications and Experience Registered Mental Health Nurse. Educated to degree level or equivalent. A minimum of 2 years Post Registration experience working within a relevant clinical setting. Awareness of professional and clinical accountability, legal issues, role limitations and boundaries while balancing duty of care and public safety issues. Literate in current IT skills. Ability to work on own initiative in an ever changing environment. Able to prioritise workload and meet tight deadlines. Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.
