Health Care Support Worker

Job Title: Support Worker / Healthcare Assistant Location: Clacton-on-Sea area Pay Rate: From £13.50 per hour, up to £16.00 per hour (depending on experience & shift) Shifts Required: Days & nights - flexible availability essential Driving Requirement: Must hold a full UK driving licence and have own transport (or reliable access) Role Summary We are looking for a dedicated, compassionate and experienced Support Worker / Healthcare Assistant to join our care team based in and around Clacton-on-Sea. You will provide high quality support to our service users, working both day and night shifts, helping them maintain their independence, dignity and quality of life. Key Responsibilities Assist service users with personal care (washing, dressing, toileting), mobility, meal preparation and feeding as required. Support with medication prompts/administration (in line with training and policy). Provide emotional support, companionship and encourage social inclusion and community access. Complete accurate documentation, reports and handovers at each shift. Work in line with care plans, risk assessments and safeguarding procedures. Maintain professional boundaries, confidentiality and promote the rights, choices and independence of each person you support. Liaise with families, other care professionals, and the care management team when needed. Person Specification / Required Qualifications & Experience Previous relevant experience working in a care or support role (e.g., domiciliary care, supported living, healthcare assistant). Valid and current DBS check registered on the Update Service (or ability to register immediately). Recognised healthcare qualification or equivalent (for example: Care Certificate, NVQ Diploma in Health & Social Care Level 2 or 3, or equivalent). Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (plus willingness to travel across the service area including nights). Ability to work days and nights on a flexible rota basis. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a caring, respectful attitude. Ability to work independently and as part of a wider team. Commitment to high standards of care, reliability and punctuality. What We Offer Hourly pay starting at £13.50, rising to £16.00 depending on shift pattern, experience and qualifications.
