Anexciting opportunity has arisen for a Practice Administrator to join our friendlyteam. You will assist in the production of all administrative areas within thepractice. Undertake work to process prescriptions, patient registration andmedical records management.Main duties of the jobJoining the Administration Team you will be responsible for prescription administration and medical records management including coding and summarising of hospital correspondence .About usWe are a busy GP Surgery that operates over 3 sites locatedin central Middlesbrough and Thorntree estate, offering first classpatient-centred primary care to a combined list size of circa 13,000 patients.SystmOne computer systemFriendly, experienced practice teamTraining practicePractice culture promotes excellent work/life balanceCQC rated as Good in all areasJob responsibilitiesJob ResponsibilitiesPRESCRIPTION ADMINISTRATIONTo print off repeat medication requests from the surgery website at least twice daily.To collect repeat prescription requests from the email and task system.To liaise with patients and chemists regarding queries and requests and as part of any required projects, collaborations or investigations.To ensure repeat medication is issued in line with the protocols that are already in place, and ensure that any queries raised are dealt with quickly and correctly.To ensure that patient queries on medication are highlighted to the relevant GPRespond to enquiries from patients, carers, secretaries, NHS administrators, Consultants or Medicines Management Teams in a courteous, timely and efficient manner and making precise records of the communicationsProvide an effective administration service as part of the Practice team to ensure the smooth and uninterrupted service of prescription support to cliniciansRun analysis reports and gather data from a variety of sources for sae management of repeat prescriptions, co-ordinate medication reviews/changes and continuous improvement.Liaise with pharmacies on the supply of prescribed drugs, alert our clinicians of any supply issues and forward information on the recommended alternativesMaintain knowledge and stay up to date with Practices formulary and national restricted drugs listWork under direction from lead GP to make drugs inactive if they have never been issued, or have not been issued for the specified period of time.GENERAL ADMINISTRATIONTo have a thorough knowledge of all practice proceduresProcessing and distributing incoming and outgoing mailFiling and retrieving paperwork/correspondence, including filing to patient recordsComputer data entry, processing and recording information in accordance with practice proceduresProviding clerical assistance to practice staff as required, including word/data processing, filing, photocopying, and scanningCover sickness/annual leave in all non-clinical areas of the practice, work reasonable overtime when required, which may include weekend and evening work.MEDICAL RECORDS MANAGEMENTRead Coding information into the practice clinical systemFiling and retrieving paperworkExtraction of necessary data from clinical correspondence and input into electronic patient Record.File copies of hospital referrals.File hospital letters.Scanning of letters and relevant correspondence into patients notes.Summarisation of patients notes when requested.Reviewing medical records and producing an accurate summary of the patients medical history.To assist in the production of information for clinical audits as requested by the GPs/Management team, including building and maintaining audits within the appropriate set timeframe.Processing new patient registrations and deductionsRead coding the new patient information into the practice clinical systemLiaise with PCSE as requiredPerson SpecificationQualificationsEducated to GCSE level or equivalentGCSE Mathematics & English (Grade A to C) or equivalentExperienceExperience of Working in Primary CareWillingness to attend training as requiredPrevious medical coding experienceExperience of Call and Recall systems within Primary CareWorking with Systmone Clinical SystemKnowledge/IT/SkillsTime ManagementFlexibilityAbility to work independently and within a teamUnderstanding of confidentialityKnowledge of auditsDisclosure and Barring Service CheckThis post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions. #J-18808-Ljbffr
