Senior Quantity Surveyor - High-Rise Residential Location: Liverpool Salary: £75,000 - £85,000 + Car Allowance/Company Car + Excellent Benefits Our client is a respected regional contractor with a strong presence across the North West, delivering large-scale high‑rise residential schemes throughout Liverpool. Due to continued growth and a strong project pipeline, they are seeking a highly driven Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team and support the delivery of major new‑build developments. This is a key strategic role offering genuine long‑term progression, with a clear pathway into more senior commercial positions for the right individual. The Role As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will take commercial ownership of large residential high‑rise developments from early cost planning through to final account. You will provide strong commercial leadership, manage procurement, control project costs, and ensure the financial success of each scheme. This role requires a commercially sharp, ambitious QS who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and can adapt quickly to change. Key Responsibilities Lead the commercial management of high‑rise residential projects across Liverpool. Manage cost planning, tendering, procurement, and contract administration. Oversee valuations, variations, cost reporting, and cashflow forecasting. Work closely with project managers, design teams, subcontractors, and clients. Provide accurate commercial insights and ensure projects achieve financial targets. Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure best value. Lead and mentor junior members of the commercial team. Ensure compliance with company procedures and contract obligations. About You Strong background in new‑build high‑rise residential projects (essential). Minimum 7 years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor and 5 years at Senior/Commercial level. Ambitious, career‑driven, and still on an upward trajectory — someone seeking progression, not a step down. Able to thrive in a dynamic, fast‑moving environment and respond quickly to project changes. Hard‑working, committed, and dedicated. Excellent commercial awareness, negotiation skills, and financial management capabilities. Degree or HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management (preferred). Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
