About Macmillan Next Steps Cancer Rehabilitation Team The Macmillan Next Steps Cancer Rehabilitation (MNSCR) Team offers a 0.6 Band 6 Macmillan Cancer Specialist Physiotherapist post. The post holder will provide specialist physiotherapy care, support and treatment to cancer patients referred to the service. Service Objectives A 1:1 community‑based, clinical rehabilitation service tailored to the complexity and nature of each patient’s needs A suite of group support and education programmes and workshops that empower people to manage health and adopt healthy lifestyles, positive health and physical activity A learning and development programme that increases health and social care professionals’ confidence, communication and awareness of the rehabilitation needs of people living with and beyond cancer Key Responsibilities Undertake diagnosis, assessment and treatment of people living with or beyond cancer to help them adapt and cope with the long‑term physical consequences of cancer treatment Oversee the physiotherapy caseload and the ‘Active Everyday’ programme Apply clinical expertise and teaching skills to support and educate health‑care professionals outside the team across the acute, community and volunteer sectors Participate in the wider activity programme for cancer across Gloucestershire, liaising with key stakeholders to sustain relationships Qualifications and Experience Clinical work is largely focused on managing the side effects of various cancer interventions. This role is ideal for those with a strong background in rehabilitation, musculoskeletal conditions and chronic pain. Experience in oncology is desirable but not mandatory; full clinical training and further CPD opportunities will be provided. The role is fixed‑term/secondment for 12 months, part‑time at 22.5 hours per week.
