As an Asset Engineer you will apply asset‑management principles and develop projects to meet the key needs of station users based on condition and asset capability. The role will proactively manage buildings assets to ensure they can safely provide the required level of functionality, performance, and safety.Oversee the building fabric of operational properties, including inspections and compliance with asset policy and technical strategy.Develop and manage prioritised maintenance and renewal plans, aligning workbanks with strategy and budget.Prepare remits and oversee delivery to ensure schemes are scoped correctly, risks are managed and outcomes achieved.Take full accountability for delivery of complex and specialist schemes, support enhancement projects, carry out engineering analysis and develop business cases.Collaborate across teams and with external partners to review proposals, identify synergies, optimise plans and monitor asset trends.Support incident investigations and engage with stakeholders to uphold asset stewardship and manage tenant dilapidations.Qualifications (Required)HND/HNC or equivalent qualification in a relevant subject.Significant relevant experience of operational property engineering.Knowledge of policies and standards relating to operational property.Working towards membership of a relevant professional institution.Qualifications (Desirable)Member of a relevant professional body.Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant subject.Incorporated or Chartered Engineer.There may be a requirement to work on‑call and undertake different shift patterns (night shifts, weekends).Salary and benefitsSalary: Starting at £43,588 and increasing to £51,719 per annum.Pro‑rata annual leave entitlement (28 days contract dependent).Discounted online shopping site and other benefits such as childcare vouchers, healthcare offers, cycle to work, healthcare club membership and more.Subsidies up to 75% on rail and underground season tickets.75% discount on leisure travel (discretionary).Choice of contributory pension schemes.2 weeks paid reserve leave for our Armed Forces community.Network Rail adheres to a structured pay framework; any salary offered will be within the pay range advertised.
