We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.The shift pattern for this post is 40 hours per week, over 7 days / on call commitment.Applications are invited for this substantive Respiratory Consultant post which will be based at Queen Elizabeth University Hospital (QEUH). The successful candidate will join an established Respiratory consultant team.Applicants must have MRCP, full GMC registration and a licence to practise. Those trained in the UK should have evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT in Respiratory and General Internal Medicine or eligibility for specialist registration (CESR) or be within 6 months of confirmed entry from date of Interview. You should have extensive training in general respiratory medicine. An interest and relevant subspecialty experience in SPVU is desirable. Non-UK applicants must demonstrate equivalent training.The successful candidates will be responsible with colleagues for the care of both inpatients and outpatients with pulmonary hypertension and general respiratory problems. Appointees will provide care for pulmonary hypertension patients at the Golden Jubilee Hospital, QEUH and Outreach clinics at Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Perth. They will also provide care for general medicine and respiratory inpatients at QEUH (including on-call duties) and outpatients within associated sites in South Sector. It is anticipated that the appointee will contribute to care provision for inpatients, outpatient and virtual clinics. The distribution of these responsibilities between the appointee and the established consultant team would be finalised post appointment. The successful candidate would contribute to educational supervision and undergraduate teaching within supporting professional activity session.Some flexibility in timing of sessions, taking into account Bank Holidays, prospective cover in colleagues’ absence, and occurrence of receiving ward rounds, will be required.The post is available from October 2025 but applicants who would only be available to start in subsequent months would also be welcome.Details on how to contact the Recruitment Service and the Recruitment Process :NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde- NHS Scotland encourages applications from all sections of the community.
