Head Football Coach Academy – Leicester, UK Our client, a prestigious sports institution in Leicester, Leicestershire, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Head Football Coach to lead their academy program. The role focuses on developing young talent and fostering a winning culture, ensuring players receive top‑tier coaching to reach their full potential. Responsibilities Develop and implement comprehensive training programs tailored to different age groups within the academy, focusing on technical, tactical, physical and psychological development. Plan and oversee all on‑field coaching sessions, ensuring high standards of engagement, discipline and skill acquisition. Scout and recruit promising young players, assessing their potential and suitability for the academy. Provide individual player feedback and development plans, fostering a supportive and challenging environment. Manage a team of assistant coaches, providing mentorship and direction. Collaborate with performance analysts, sports scientists and medical staff to create holistic player development strategies. Ensure compliance with all club policies, league regulations and safeguarding protocols. Build strong relationships with players, parents and guardians, maintaining open lines of communication. Organise and manage match‑day preparations and execution for academy teams. Contribute to the overall strategic direction of the club’s youth development. Qualifications Minimum of a UEFA 'A' Coaching Licence, with a UEFA 'Pro' Licence highly desirable. Proven track record of success in youth development coaching, with demonstrable experience in identifying and nurturing talent. In‑depth knowledge of modern football coaching methodologies and sports science principles. Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate young athletes. Experience in managing coaching staff and working within a performance environment. Strong understanding of child protection and safeguarding in sport is mandatory. Previous experience playing professional or semi‑professional football is an advantage. Full clean UK driving licence.
