Be among the first 25 applicants. Job Summary An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Project Manager Capital Delivery to join our team based at Southend Hospital. This role supports the delivery of the capital construction programme across the Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust. The post holder will help deliver a comprehensive plan for the development of business cases and the implementation of the extensive capital programme. Responsibilities The appointed candidate will manage capital construction projects within a diverse programme as part of a multi‑year portfolio worth approximately £200 m to £300 m over the next five years. Projects range from minor works and backlog investment projects to major schemes of £10 m to £50 m. You will be part of a highly-skilled and motivated project delivery team (≈20 WTE and external specialists) across the MSB Hospitals group. Details Date posted: 03 December 2025 Pay scheme: Agenda for change Band: Band 8a Salary: £55,690 per annum (Pro Rata for Part Time) Contract: Permanent Working pattern: Full‑time Person Specification Essential Relevant Degree or equivalent experience. Knowledge backed by extensive experience in the delivery of complex programmes of estates capital investment. Desirable Other relevant qualifications in construction. Years of relevant experience. Experience of managing mixed delivery teams, including contractors and consultants. Experience of receiving highly complex facts and information about situations and making judgements. Ability to seek out new and innovative ways of delivering projects.
