A Little More About Your Role… As a member of the Health and Life Sciences Advisory (HLSA) senior leadership team lead, design and deliver transformation programmes in the health and life sciences sectors. The role is about improving service quality, efficiency, innovation, and outcomes through strategic change — often incorporating digital innovation, commercial strategy, policy alignment, stakeholder collaboration, and regulatory compliance. This senior role will identify opportunities to advance the HLSA strategy and vision and provide leadership to teams delivering transformation services – digital, asset optimisation, service transformation and complex programme management. A key component of the role is to expand and develop service range, quality, efficiency and innovation across the teams, to build a comprehensive transformation advisory services to clients in health and life sciences. This role is responsible for delivering revenue and gross margin targets across the transformation group of services ensuring resource is managed effectively and flexibly across teams. Lead development and execution of comprehensive transformation strategies for health and life sciences organisations, services or systems. Drive the implementation of change programmes across clinical, digital, research, assets and operational domains. Oversee conversion of strategic goals into actionable plans, business cases, roadmaps and benefits realisation metrics. Manage complex stakeholder networks (internal: clinicians, operational teams; external: regulators, academic, industry, patients) to ensure buy‑in, co‑design, and alignment. Apply service design, improvement methodologies (e.g. Lean, Six‑Sigma), digital transformation techniques and technology enablement. Ensure governance, risk, resource, and budget controls across transformation services group. Monitor performance, measure outcomes, adapt course as needed. Liaise with policy, regulatory, innovation bodies; ensure transformation is compliant and aligned with national / local health and life sciences policy. Provide leadership, mentoring and support to project teams and change agents. To agree and manage resource across teams adopting a best athlete approach. Will provide a quality assurance role across capabilities identifying any gaps in expertise to be addressed. Will be the account lead for key target clients and commissions. Will provide leadership and support to service delivery teams. With HSLA health, life sciences and International leads, support or lead on new business bids or project extensions. Deliver service expertise within the HLSA advisory team (~60‑70% of time). Key Relationships Managing Director / Operations Director Direct report to Head of Discipline/ Managing director Agree and report against Gross Margin targets Agree, implement and report on strategic plan Sector Lead – Agree business development targets for group and resource plan; work collaboratively with peers on key opportunities and proposals ensuring resources are used more effectively Service Leads in Transformation Group (Direct reports) – Service Transformation Director, Asset optimisation Director, Digital and Transformation Director, Programme Management Director Wider WSP – Develop and maintain relationships across WSP in UK and International as key capability group contact in HLSA External – Key clients and stakeholders; Industry partners, developers and investors What We Will Be Looking For You To Demonstrate Track record of leading large, complex transformation projects in healthcare, life sciences, or similarly regulated sectors. Experience ideally within a consultancy organisation leading transformation programme for a range of health or life sciences clients. Experience in strategic healthcare or life sciences planning, digital health, health technology. Ability to analyse and interpret both quantitative and qualitative data; understand policy, regulatory environment. Excellent communication, negotiation, influencing skills; ability to manage multiple stakeholder interests.
