Typical attendance 08:00–16:00 Monday to Friday with flexibility. Please note: you'll be required to join an out of hours callout in the future; rota typically 1 in 5 weeks covering a wider area. We are currently recruiting for a Mobile Electrical and Maintenance Engineer covering the Leicester post code area. The role requires strong technical expertise in electrical systems, mechanical power, control wiring, and electrical installation testing and inspection. You'll take the lead on a variety of facilities management systems, focusing on electrical maintenance across multiple sites, with a company vehicle provided to support travel. About the Role Carry out maintenance of electrical systems across a variety of commercial sites Diagnose faults and provide expert advice to customers, particularly on equipment such as roller shutter doors and dock levelers Perform basic plumbing tasks, including replacing taps, sinks, cistern flush units, and heating elements Apply technical knowledge and personal judgement to deliver high‑quality work that meets cost and time targets Offer clear technical guidance to colleagues and customers to help resolve issues efficiently Manage the delivery of both planned and corrective maintenance in line with contract performance standards Liaise daily with customer representatives to ensure all requirements are met and expectations exceeded Ensure all relevant paperwork is completed accurately and in accordance with approved procedures Promote a strong safety culture by setting a positive example for colleagues and customers Build and maintain strong customer relationships, representing yourself and Royal Mail Property & Facilities Solutions professionally at all times About You Must hold an Electrical certification such as the 18th Edition Possess full electrical City & Guilds qualifications — including 2382 and 2391 Testing & Inspection Demonstrated experience in planned maintenance of both electrical and mechanical systems Skilled in fault finding and diagnosis, with the ability to advise others across various systems Strong communication skills, capable of explaining technical issues clearly to customers Confident in analysing and resolving complex electrical system challenges Ideally trained and certified in IPAF and MEWP and comfortable working at heights Proven experience working with customers in a commercial environment Hold a valid UK driving licence (preferably with no endorsements), as travel across sites is required Computer literacy skills an advantage About Us Royal Mail Property & Facilities Solutions is responsible for upgrading and safely maintaining one of the largest corporate real estate and property portfolios in Europe, with over 2,600 sites.
