Speech and Language Therapist (Band 6) Location: Marylebone, LondonHours: Full-time, term time onlyContract: PermanentSalary: Band 6 Role Overview A specialist SEN school in Central London is seeking a Speech and Language Therapist to join their multidisciplinary team. In this Band 6 role, you will support students aged 11-18 with autism, social communication needs, dyslexia, dyspraxia, and wider SEN/SpLD profiles. The position involves delivering targeted interventions, contributing to a whole-school therapeutic model, and working closely with teachers, therapists, and pastoral staff. Key Responsibilities Provide speech and language therapy for pupils with SEN/SpLD. Deliver individual and group therapy programmes. Complete assessments, progress reviews, and reporting. Set communication targets collaboratively with teachers and families. Adapt resources and approaches to support access to learning. Maintain therapy records and contribute to annual reviews. Participate in CPD, reflective practice, and service development. Supervise assistants or students when required. Attend multidisciplinary meetings and contribute to school events. Follow safeguarding procedures and provide support during activities. Person Requirements Qualified Speech and Language Therapist (Band 6). HCPC registration. Experience with children or young people with SEN/SpLD. Knowledge of evidence-based speech and language interventions. Strong communication and organisational skills. Understanding of safeguarding and risk management. Desirable: school-based experience; experience with autism and social communication needs; confidence managing more complex cases with supervision.
