Location: City Of London, England, United Kingdom SAP S/4HANA Finance Consultant Role Overview We are seeking an experienced SAP S/4HANA Finance Consultant with strong hands‑on experience across multi‑entity and multi‑country finance, Record‑to‑Report (R2R), Procure‑to‑Pay (P2P), and group consolidation/reporting. The role covers the full lifecycle from workshops and blueprinting to build, testing, data migration, cutover and hyper‑care, working closely with Finance, Group Reporting, Procurement, and IT stakeholders. Responsibilities Lead functional design and blueprinting for SAP S/4HANA Finance (FI/CO) – including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Asset Accounting, Bank and Cash Management, and Controlling; own the R2R process design (month‑end, quarter‑end, year‑end close, accruals, provisions, fx revaluation, intercompany postings and reconciliations, trial balance, statutory/management reporting). Design and integrate P2P processes – Requisition → Purchase Order → Goods Receipt → Invoice → Payment; three‑way and two‑way match, GR/IR handling, invoice exceptions; AP workflow and approvals; non‑PO invoices, credit notes and down payments. Configure multi‑entity and multi‑country finance models – company codes, controlling areas, profit centres, segments, multi‑currency set‑up, parallel ledgers, multiple accounting principles (IFRS, local GAAP), and capture/refine requirements through structured workshops and process walkthroughs. Act as a client‑facing functional lead: run workshops, challenge requirements, present solution options, and demonstrate the solution to senior finance and procurement stakeholders (CFO, Financial Controller, Head of Procurement, Shared Services Leads). Produce clear functional specifications, process flows, and test scripts. Requirements 10+ years of experience as an SAP Finance Consultant with strong S/4HANA exposure. Minimum two full‑lifecycle S/4HANA Finance implementations (design, build, testing, go‑live). Solid FI/CO expertise – GL, AP, AR, AA, Bank Accounting; CO (cost centres, profit centres, internal orders). Proven R2R experience – month‑end/year‑end close, fx revaluation, allocations, intercompany, financial reporting. Strong P2P/procurement experience in an SAP landscape – end‑to‑end P2P flows and invoice processing; GR/IR and integration to Finance. Experience in multi‑entity/multi‑country environments – multiple company codes, currencies, tax regimes, parallel ledgers, multi‑GAAP accounting. Experience with group consolidation/group reporting (e.g., S/4HANA Group Reporting, BPC or equivalent). Comfortable acting as a client‑facing functional lead, running workshops, and presenting solution options to senior stakeholders. Strong documentation skills – able to produce clear functional specs, process flows, and test scripts. Desirable Experience with global template design and multi‑country rollouts. Exposure to Central Finance, Treasury or advanced Cash Management. Knowledge of e‑invoicing, digital VAT reporting and other regulatory/compliance requirements. Accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ACA) and/or SAP S/4HANA Finance certification. Experience working in Agile/hybrid delivery models using tools like Jira or Azure DevOps. Personal Profile Strong end‑to‑end process mindset across R2R, P2P and group consolidation. Business‑oriented – able to balance best‑practice S/4 configuration with practical operational needs. Detail‑focused with a strong emphasis on controls, reconciliations and data quality. Self‑starter – comfortable working independently while collaborating with cross‑functional teams. Confident communicator able to lead demos, show‑and‑tells and design discussions with senior stakeholders.
