At The Terrace, we take pride in offering high-quality, freshly prepared dishes in a stylish and welcoming setting. We’re now looking for Catering Assistants to join our friendly team on a casual contract, offering flexibility to suit both you and the needs of the business. We’re looking for team members with full‑time availability, including at least one weekend day each week, working within retail hours. The Role As a Catering Assistant, you’ll play a key role in supporting both our kitchen and front‑of‑house teams, ensuring every guest enjoys an exceptional experience. You’ll assist with food preparation, service, and maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and organisation throughout the restaurant. Key Responsibilities Support chefs with basic food preparation and portioning tasks Assist with plating and presentation of dishes where required Help serve food and drinks while providing a warm, welcoming service Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene across kitchen and service areas Restock counters, fridges, and display areas as needed Follow all food safety, allergen, and health & safety procedures Assist with receiving, checking, and correctly storing deliveries Carry out other reasonable tasks as required to support the wider team Skills & Experience Required Basic understanding of food hygiene and health & safety practices Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining standards Friendly, approachable, and confident in customer‑facing roles Reliable, flexible, and able to work well under pressureStrong teamwork and communication skills Physically able to stand for long periods and carry out manual tasks Willingness to work retail hours, with full‑time availability and at least one weekend day each week If you’re a motivated and adaptable team player who enjoys working with great food in a welcoming environment, we’d love to hear from you.
